The Writing Pad, a project of our member Judy Lev (Labensohn), has announced a one-day writing workshop with prizewinning writer Joan Leegant on "The Art of Stumbling, or Getting from Rock to Rock," to be held Wednesday, January 14, 2026, 10:30 am – 3:30 pm, at Pa’amon in Tel Aviv. Judy writes: "This workshop is for anyone who writes fiction, poetry, memoir, personal essays, plays, songs or any other imaginative genre." Cost is NIS 510 (NIS 440 for students). Available places are limited.
According to Judy, writing is stumbling because "For many of us, writing is a tug-of-war between wanting to know where we’re going and letting the process (whatever that is) take over (...) yet writers who’ve learned to embrace the not-knowing say it’s the only way they can make anything true and moving."
Joan Leegant (
https://www.joanleegant.com/) is a winner of the New American Fiction Prize and other honors and has taught at Harvard, Bar-Ilan, Oklahoma State, and elsewhere.
Pa’amon is a cultural arts studio located at 23 Eliphelet St., corner of Eilat and Eliphelet in Tel Aviv’s Florentine neighborhood. A 90-second walk from the Eliphelet Light Rail Station. There is parking nearby.
Registration: Send payment by BIT to Judy Labensohn at tel. 0522966194. Notify Judy immediately of your payment by email (
judyla...@gmail.com) and/or WhatsApp.
Cancellations: Until January 7th with return of NIS 400. From January 8th there will be a partial reimbursement, dependent on the waiting list.
