G'day,
Really loving this app and the potential it has. I realise there's still a few bugs, but I can work around that.

What you have here is a brilliant form designing app. But at the moment, the output is still very much focused on a Formal safety report. Which is great - for that one thing.

I'm in the process of making up many forms for the app for our company and can see limitless potential if a few more options are added.

Are you planning on introducing any of the following options in the near future:
  • An output option that is just a form - without all the front cover, disclaimer, contents etc? Just the header details at the top of the form.
  • or, option to edit, add and delete pages in the output document? So instead of being a disclaimer that is added to the doc it may be terms and conditions and added to the end of the form instead of before, etc.
  • A smart field the can do calculations - set a price and a meterage etc and a total section that adds it all up?
If these are things you're looking to expand it into, I will continue to build more templates with this app. If it's reached it's desired purpose, I'll keep looking for the right app.

Thanks guys.

Cheers,
Jeremy

The output files and fields can be modified from the program... go to the export area and select the PDF/Word option.
Here you can change sizes of fields, turn off headers and pages, add other words to disclaimers etc.
So you should be able to get a 'better' output more in line with what you want.

I also like the idea of 'calculation' files that might ask the 'components' of each equation and give an answer... or, allow a 'value' field and a 'calculation' field that allows access to do mathematical functions on values you specify.
And allow the 'smart field' to so something like a calculation (if X>10 then.....)

Thanks Gareth,
I know you can edit stuff when you export it - but I can't lock those specs into the template. I can't edit the disclaimer or what pages print in the template. Only what I do specifically on my ipad or phone.
I want to set it so that I upload a template - one of our employees can download the checklist (for example) and when he hits send - it is only the checklist. He has no idea as to how to export and change options. He's going to fill in my template and hit send. Know what I mean?

You like the calculation idea - but at the moment there's no smart field that can do it, is there? I'd like to make up a quote form or something where certain prices can be set per meter etc. So when they're on a job they can enter the measurements and it will total it all up.

Cheers,

Hi Jeremy,
I understand what you mean, the settings are per device rather than per template. At this stage your best option is to get you staff to export to a Word document and email it to you. Then you can edit your audit to suit your needs.

I can forward your ideas on the the engineering team re the calculations, but we do have to be careful to not making the app too complicated.
So we do listen to your ideas, but we do have to way up if it is going to help the majority of our users.

Regards,
Tony

Hi Jeremy,

We are bringing out a different file format that will allow template level options to be saved when the document is shared. We don't have a release date at this time, but it is part of our development program going forward.

Regards,
Luke

In the Export Area, you can change all manner of export settings and they appear to save to the template. Should give you what you want! You can remove pages at the front, change data in files etc

Try it out and see...it has worked for me on one iPad, but not sure if it transfers across others like you say (saves to the template, or saves to the iPad itself)

As far as I know, there is no calculation ability...I would like to do similar things to you.

Gareth

Beauty. I'll give it a go and transfer a few to the iPhone and see what happens.

Yeah ..  that'll work for each individual device as well - but not saved to the template.
