iauditor crashing

Hello,

Well done on the update - the dynamic and smart fields are FANTASTIC.

There seems to be a bug, where whenever I first start an audit, in the first question or two. It crashes and closes. I reopen and start again and it seems to be fine. 

I am in the process of creating an audit so I am not entering an data in the initial "info" fields. I am also starting from the templates page and tapping to start. 

Any thoughts on why this might happen? I have version 2.0.1

Can you provide some information about the type of device you are using and what version of iOS you are running?

I'm also finding this happens quite a lot.

I'm running iAuditor 2.0.1 (latest version I think), on an iPad3 64GB with ios6.

An example of one that has been crashing is in the cloud, called Asbestech Revised Initial Site Inspection Form.

I tend to find that if it crashes it will do so on the first question (which in my case is a multiple choice), and my perception (which may be wrong) is that it may be happening sometimes when I tap the screen too quickly to select a choice. It crashes iAuditor completely and returns me to home screen of iPad. When I relaunch iAuditor it normally then runs with no problems. If you want an example audit it's happened on, in cloud is one I've made that crashes on me called "Asbestech Revised Initial Site Inspection Form" which we are beta testing before using in our business.

Firstly, well done on the template you have created. It has some excellent use of smart fields, dynamic fields and even setup a risk rating section. It is great to see!

We are not able to get any crashes with the template you have created on our devices so far, testing on iPad 2, iPad 3 and iPhone 5. We will continue to investigate it for you until we can find the cause of the issue.

I have the"new ipad" (is that 3? bought about 3 months ago) and ios 6.

I'm not sure if its quick selection that causes my crash, I just tested it - opened up the template, skipped the initial info section, short pause then straight into the first question. Crash. I repeated what I did, same length of pause. Everything OK.

Its always the first time I start the audit after a period of time where I haven't been working on it.

I can confirm this bug. I have iPad 3 64 gb also, exact same symptoms, pip explained accurately.

Happens frequently, first time using in a while. Hard to diagnose and hard to replicate. I don't think it is a certain form element, although it has happened to be on multiple choice and dynamic fields so far. I also don't think it is form specific, I have created new forms since the newest version and still had the crash. Reopen and everything is fine, no more crash..

Keep trying to replicate this bug, safety culture, try to use a different iPad 3 than the one you are using.

Thank you to the users above for letting us know about this issue, we have managed to reproduce it once on one of our test units, but it hasn't occurred again. We are conducting more testing on more devices and expect to get to the source of it soon.

I'm quite happy if you want to fly me out from England to show you...! I'm sure you'll get to the bottom of it. I've got it happening on another one I've created now too, maybe it's something to do with what else is on iPad, or whether linked to iCloud or whatever it's called (mine is) or some other setting. To be honest it's a bit annoying, but you guys have given us an amazing tool at no cost so who's gonna grumble? (Oh sorry, I'm supposed to be a whinging pom aren't I?!!)

And thanks for the compliments Tony, but that was a poor effort compared to what it looks like now, new version not on cloud yet though.I think I'm going to be making some awesome forms with this tool.
