Hi, IASPM-ites,

I wanted to round up some of the terrific writing, on the border of academia and journalism, published since Aretha Franklin's death yesterday. Links below. In addition, consider this an invitation to write something of your own, with details for submissions at this link. http://iaspm-us.net/cfp-remembering-aretha/ Please share your thoughts!

//IASPM-US invites short remembrances of Aretha Franklin, to run next week on our website. We may also collect some of this writing for a future Journal of Popular Music Studies issue. Please send your thoughts, no more than 500 words each please, via this form. We will begin publishing them on Monday. Let us know if, along with your name, you would like us to list an affiliation of some kind: university, publication, etc. We will not be able to edit this writing in any extensive fashion.//

Best, Eric
