Hello.
First, I'd like to know whether your project is still alive as the last commit was in Sep 15, 2009, according to Google Code.
Also, I'd like to notify you that we finished our refactoring, so the API in 1.6.3 is likely to remain stable for a long time.
Finally, we know have a nice module system, and I'd like to know whether you want some help in order to make iasna a python-graph third-party module. We're trying to keep ourselves small, and this module system is our solution to provide a wider range of algorithms while keeping our current modest size.
Let me know what you think about this. Right now, we're very interested in becoming a small and generic core to a ecosystem of specialized, third-party modules. If you jump in, we'd link your project on our page when you're ready.
Cheers
Pedro

Thanks a lot for your attention, i'll be waiting for the next release to make the respective changes to the code, but we'll continue working on developing new SNA methods until then, right now we just have separated scripts for each new SNA method and haven't been worried about the modular organization of them foreseeing changes as already are on python-graph.We can discuss later what is better about the way to continue developing our module, but for us would be great being part of your contributors team in python-graph, that would be a great experience since, as we are new working on this kind of projects and with this language even tough I think we are doing well tanking into account the short time since we started the project on Aug 05, 2009.We are trying to cover the principal SNA Methods described on the book Social Network Analysis, Methods and Aplications - Stanley Wasserman and Katherine Faust which is our kind of bedside book.On Wed, Sep 9, 2009 at 4:46 PM, Pedro Matiello <pmat...@gmail.com> wrote:That is very interesting. Right now, we are finishing the refactoring of our codebase, which was very monolithic, to a modular one. The next release will allow third-party modules with very easy integration (we're even moving a small part of our own code to a module to have a dependency-less core).
My plan is to release 1.6.2 by this weekend. This release will cause some breakage, but it will be very easy to fix. With it, you'll be able to reach strong integration with python-graph.
I think that the best for us is to have your module developed out of our tree, but I'm open to any arguments. Either way, you'll find support on our mailing-list and we would be happy to link to your project page on our homepage.
Cheers
Pedro
P.S.: I visited your group. I'm Brazilian, so I could have at least a poor understanding of it. :)

Subject: Please check out our google code project IASNAGreetings,We are a group of students doing some research about the application ofSocial Network Analysis (SNA) in
Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) environments.
We are interested in developing a SNA module, we evaluated different options before to choose python as the language to work on it. The project Python-Graph was one of the reasons to decide working with python, and we started seeing which SNA methods were already implemented and which ones could be implemented by us, now we have some SNA methods implemented on a google project that we called IASNA (Interaction Analysis with SNA), we would like to study the possibility to integrate both projects taking into consideration their similarity, for us this is just an academic work and we just want explicit recognition of our contribution as a proof to show our work to our evaluators at the University since, as this is just a part of our final project to opt for the title of Systems Engineering at the University of Cauca - Colombia.
This is our google project: http://code.google.com/p/iasna/you can also visit our group but it is in spanish: http://groups.google.com/group/iasna
I hope you notice the value and similarities of our work.
