Hello Irene,

We should have noticed that Synergo is meanly intended to be used for supporting collaboration between pairs, actually we're looking forward a CSCL environment that supports a bigger number of participants in order to track their interactions and analyze them by using our SNA module. this module provides a set of SNA metrics which are part of the redefinition of 4 collaboration process indicators chosen from the literature and one of them is precisely the CF indicator proposed in "Modelling Interactions during small-group synchronous problem-solving activities: The Synergo Approach" and if you want to take a deeper look to the details of our global project you can check out our first paper:

and we have a couple more of papers in the process of revision for other congresses, unfortunately for the time being our official language is Spanish 'cause the outcomes of this project have to be presented in this language but we are willing to respond to any doubt or question.

Thanks for your interest in our project.

Hello,

First of all we would like to thank you for your interest in Synergo. We are quite interested in your SNA analysis project since it is in our area of interest as well. However we should let you know that Synergo is mostly used for supporting collaboration between pairs and that is why we have some second thoughts that it can’t be proved helpful in your research.

For reading the logfiles(which are encoded that is why you cannot read them straight forward) we use the “Analysis Tools” that is part of Synergo client. You can easily copy/paste the data from there in a text file or excel sheet. If you need a more “automated” way to do that, we could provide you with an API or the Synergo code that we use for decoding the logfiles.

Thank you in advance,

Greetings,

We are a group of students doing some research about the application of

Social Network Analysis (SNA) in

Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) environments and

have been developing  a external SNA module with some methods implemented

on a google project that we called IASNA

<http://code.google.com/p/iasna>(Interaction Analysis with SNA), now

we are looking for CSCL environments

which provide a logfile that can be accessed in order to map the interaction

data to graphs in a form that can be possible apply some sna methods. we are

interested in using Synergo but can not read the data saved in the logfile

and the question is  if there is a way to read this file from an external

module whether an API or accessing the methods used for the Analysis tool to

read and show the data on Synergo.

Thank you in advance.
