IASA NYC Chapter October 26, 2010 Meeting, 6:00pm
at Microsoft, 6th floor, 1290 Sixth Avenue, NYC, NY
Title:
"Are you ready to be the 6th Pillar in your organization?"
Meeting Description:
IASA has worked with industry luminaries and the IASA membership to
create the Body of Knowledge (BOK) that is relevant to IT architects
and has organized the topics under five foundational pillars (skill
sets). At this meeting we plan to provide a quick overview of the five
architectural pillars, their relevance to your profession, and how
they relate each other. We hope to provide you a layout of the
foundation to become a well rounded architect. Following this short
presentation will be a Fish Bowl style meeitng where we can discuss
how the chapter can support you to integrate those five pillars
becoming the "6th Pillar."
The pillars are the structural foundation of the profession, as
defined by other practicing architects. Described in detail on IASA's
website (
http://www.iasahome.org/web/home/competencies), the pillars
help define a language and a definition of skills. This presentation
will be help architects understand those pillars. During the following
fish bowl, we hope to help have an open conversation and help identify
a roadmap for professional development by using a common language.
