IAR Sports & Recreation Activities Information

[IAR Sports]

Assalamo Alykum Brothers and Sisters,

I have received few requests on what the IAR Sports & Rec activities are. So I thought I'd send it to everyone so everyone knows. Please let others know as well.

The ongoing activities now so far are:

-> Volleyball for men (free play) on Tuesdays and Thursdays after Isha Prayers
-> GBL08 registration is on.
-> MBL08 registration is on.
-> Men's (outdoor) Soccer 2008 registration is on.

The "coming soon" activities are:

-> Basketball practice on Weekdays between Maghreb and Isha for girls of age 9-14 and 15-19. This is a practice for the IAR Girls Basketball League 2008 (GBL08). The actual league will start in March  of 2008.

-> Men's Basketball league 2008 (MBL08) will kick in in Feb of 2008
Men's outdoor soccer tourney 2008 will start on Sat Jan 26 2008 and will last for 4 weeks.

-> Volleyball for women (free play) on Saturdays after Isha ( this has not been confirmed ...yet)

Future activities solely depend on the completion of the IAR new building. Among those are:

-> Yoga for sisters
-> Martial Arts for kids ,youth and maybe adults
-> Indoor soccer tourney for kids and youth.

We are also in great need of (committed) volunteers, fitness instructors, and who ever can positively contribute to the IAR Sports & Rec committee.
