Narrated `Aisha (RA), Hamza bin `Amr Al-Aslami asked the Prophet (peace be upon him), "Should I fast while traveling?" The Prophet (peace be upon him)
replied, "You may fast if you wish, and you may not fast if you wish."
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 30, Hadith 50)
Fasting while travelling is a choice. If you are able to manage it and want to, then you will get the reward of it. If you are unable to and choose not to fast when travelling but make up the missed fasts later, you'll get the rewards of your intentions
Insha'Allah. The Duas of the traveller are one of those that are accepted and precious. Remember our HOTD family in your Duas if you're travelling during this blessed month.
Imam Al-Ghazali was a great scholar of Islam and provides some insights into the secrets of Ramadan here.
