Asalamu Alaykum Brothers & Sisters,

 

Please find below the announcement for IAR's 2nd Public Speaking worshop! This SUNDAY Oct 17th, 3:30PM isA. :-)

 

 As someone who attended the first one, I personally recommend it & highly encourage everyone to check it out. Whether it's for dawah, khutbah, employment and school needs or simply for the sake of your kids, we could all improve & practice our public speaking skills.

 

It made such a difference in my life! I went from completely avoiding potential dawah opportunities to giving an impromtu speech infront of 200 people at my brother's wedding! Didn't hesitate at all, enjoyed every second of it & made both families very happy. :-)   

 

This workshop is very friendly for all ages & both genders. My class included amazing parents who brought their 11 & 13 year old kids to encourage them from a young age, to a group of Sisters who were giving presentations during last June's Sister's Health Fair @ IAR. Modesty issues are taken into consideration & kept in perspective, which made it very comfortable & enjoyable.

 

The most important thing which made this course remarkable, is that we were encouraged to embrace who we are. We were told having an accent when speaking English shouldn't discourage us. If anything, it means we know more than one language & are intelligent & accomplished people. That opening statement set a positive & upbeat tone for the entire audience. :-)
