Hi everyone,

I love this idea.  It supports all schools and students with great access to the global pw community and its events.

PWI already has a google calendar of its events available to all faculty, students and staff.  Would there be an easy way for all this info to ping to the IAPOP calendar?  Double entry is time-consuming and subject to higher error rates.

    Dear all,

What do you all think about having a central calendar for all public
Process Work Events in the known Universe?

There is an incredible potential for using Google Calendars for schools
listing events, and then it is really easy to ping over particular events
    to a Universal Umbrella Calendar.

There is also the great advantage that Google Hangouts can be listed either
on the school or on the umbrella calendar or both, and then people can drop
them straight into their personal calendars. And even join the hangout from
    their calendar.

I have setup such a calendar.

I would like to setup a form to populate it with all the events that are
presently organised for the coming year. This would mean organisers from
each school spending the team to fill in the form. In future individual
schools would need to update their own calendar and then transfer them to
the central IAPOP calendar. It's really easy once you know how.

This calendar would be public and so would be a form of global publicity
about what you could get to and where. It would also have online events
that people could signup for etc..

Then these calendars can be linked into websites, and are even searchable
    on the web .

    Let me know your thoughts

    Mark

    Hi Hellene, Alan,

    That all sounds great.

I see it is possible to get Google Events from Facebook events
automatically but not the other way round. It's probably worth spending the
time to put up Google Calendar events once in a while. Website can take
feeds of upcoming events in all kinds of different ways from Google. Like
embedding a small google calendar, but you can also have events feeds which
just come in as upcoming titles and dates and things like that.

I've never tried it but this is the way to automatically create Google
Events from Facebook events. This would need to be setup by each Process
Work events organiser who puts things on facebook.

I also just wanted to share with you that I am working towards a live
supervision process for myself in my work with young people where I feel
that there is a need for immediate supervision. I have been meeting alot of
young people with extreme autism, and there is a strong wish for some ways
of working with them that are less relient upon medication. I am planning,
with consent of course, to see if I can have experienced processworkers
join me by google Hangout, with a blue tooth microphone headset and ipad in
the session so that I can talk with a supervisor and hear their feedback in
the moment... As long as they let me and the young man have say too!

I just wanted to share this because I think there are some incredible
training opportunities here in future. We can have the trainer or
supervisor with us in the session, speaking in our ear as a virtual third
party. It rreally bring s a new dimension to 'hearing voices'. But also I
think this kind of live training opportunity when we become familiar with
it, could be a very very deep form of training. Also the session can be
recorded. You can have even several supervisors. And of course you could
also have someone working with a client or group, and the virtual classroom
being a part of the work at the same time.

Let me know what you think.

    Dear Mark,
I am reading mails here though it is an extremely busy time so I have no chance for more active participation I the moment.
Thanks for all you are doing, I see so many great opportunities an will catch up with all that when only I will have a moment.
I think it is a great idea at some moments to have an immediate access to supervision, provided all is clear with agreements and so on.
    Good luck !!!
    Love
    Bogna

Aah there's a question I love to answer. The simple answer is YES. I believe there are two ways to go. There is a way to export all events as an excel document and then input to knew calendar. But the easiest and more precise method is to open each event and then simply click save copy in IAPOP Umbrella. I'd be happy to run through this with you and it will help us show the calendar with entries. You need permissions first to edit IAPOP umbrella. Let me know if you would like to go ahead. This could be done with Bill Says request to have a run through of google calendars.
