Hi all
Long time nobody write.
Iam not reading Shantaram. After 30 odd pages I found the book patronising and disgusting....I suppose I cannot identify with a escaped convict, drug addict, cum gun runner etc and the underbelly of Mumbai 20-30 years ago. I am more in tune with an Inspector Morse in Oxford or a Sherlock Holmes in the England of the last century. I guess middle class morality eventually identifies with itself regardless of place or time!!
Incidentally I did try to read intermittent parts of the book trying to find something of interest , but it just failed to grip and I gave up after reading the last couple of pages. RIP.

Haven’t been reading at all lately – just barely have time to read the newspaper but hopefully my life will get back on track soon. Just wanted to say that I think you have a lovely way with words and your reviews make enjoyable reading !
Gopal, I completed your “twisted” more than a month back but am yet to return it. Others, am not reviewing “twisted” coz gopal had already done that some time back.
