hi gopal and all who get this,
so deaver is gopals latest read. have read coffin dancer, bonecollector, manhatten is my beat and one featuring a bunch of kidnapped deaf kids. will check out twisted soon. always on lookout for deavers i have not read. am currently reading martin cruz smith, havanna bay. though nobody can come close to lecarre and his george smiley, cruz smiths arkady renko is as much a loser and what i like the most about him is that he is younger. had liked gorky park by the same author. the cold war had given these writers, le carre, deighton, forsyth, cruz smith and anymore that you want to add, a roaring business and it is interesting to read whatever they are coming up with post cold war, berlin wall collapse and the collapse of the soviet union. they are grappling with it and in this case of havanna bay, russia na sahi toh cuba chalega (coz they still are communist and hated by the usa, which is not so much the case with china).
i devour thrillers and the espionage ones even more. but in between read ,i dont know what to call them, books like,' ines of my soul ' by isabel allende, which iam also currently reading. it is the story of a woman who becomes the mistress of a field marsall and how they go about conquering chile. dunno how many thrillers i will read before i finish this book.
cheers,
shanthi.
