Call for Symposia & Workshop Proposals The Oklahoma Host Committee is excited to welcome you for the 2024 IALE-North America Annual Meeting in Oklahoma City! This year's event will be held Monday, April 1 - Friday, April 5 at the Omni Hotel. Note the slight change in day pattern for this year’s annual meeting. The Welcome Social will take place Monday night and the first Plenary will take place on Tuesday morning. We are looking forward to another fully in-person conference. The theme of this year's meeting is "Data Science in Landscape Ecology." As we prepare for the Annual Meeting, the latest developments will be posted on the website. Please save these dates! Visit the Website Call for Symposia The Oklahoma Host Team invites you to submit a proposal for an Organized Symposium and take advantage of this opportunity to be a part of the scientific centerpiece of the meeting. An Organized Symposium is a series of integrated presentations that address aspects of a single topic or theme. Symposia will run concurrently with other technical sessions. A symposium can consist of invited speakers only or be open to accepting presentations from the general call for abstracts, which will open by early November. If you have an innovative idea on a timely subject that would appeal to landscape ecology professionals from across North America and beyond, please submit a symposium proposal for consideration. Responsibilities of Symposia Organizers: Organizers are responsible for coordinating with the Program Committee, planning their sessions, selecting instructors/presenters, moderating their sessions, and meeting all deadlines. IALE-NA does not pay registration fees, travel expenses, or honoraria for symposium organizers or presenters. All organizers and invited speakers must register for the conference. Deadline to submit: October 13, 2023, 11:59 PM (Central) Submit a Symposium Proposal Call for Workshops Proposals are now being accepted from those interested in holding a workshop in conjunction with the 2024 IALE-NA Annual Meeting. Workshops provide training on a specific skill, technique, or process and may involve one or more instructors. Workshops are intended to emphasize learning through participation, discussion, and "hands-on" activities. Workshops, if approved, will be scheduled for either Wednesday, April 3rd from 1:00 - 5:00 pm, or on Friday, April 5th from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm, so as not to conflict with other primary program elements. Responsibilities of Workshop Organizers: Organizers are responsible for coordinating with the Program Committee, planning their workshop, communicating with any co-presenters, and adhering to all deadlines. IALE-NA does not pay registration fees, travel expenses, or honoraria for Workshop Organizers or presenters; and everyone must register for the conference. Deadline to submit: October 13, 2023, 11:59 PM (Central) Submit a Workshop Proposal LEARN MORE Oklahoma City has gone through a significant transformation to make space for pedestrians, increase urban parks, and re-invigorate the downtown area, even installing a streetcar system. The conference hotel is right across the street from the Paycom Center – home venue of the NBA team Oklahoma City Thunder—and right next to the newly constructed Scissortail Park.
