Dear CCSG Members,

We are thrilled to announce that, today, the CCSG Transport Working Group published its Technical Report ‘Addressing ecological connectivity in the development of roads, railways, and canals’. This is the product of nearly four years of work and contributions from over 30 TWG members.

The report is IUCN's first in-depth publication on the challenges and solutions of linear transport infrastructure (LTI) and biodiversity. It provides an overview of practical, feasible, science-based strategies for protected and conserved area (PCA) managers, transport practitioners, industry, conservationists, and other interested stakeholders to confront the impacts of infrastructure on the environment.

We hope that this resource will prove useful in your connectivity conservation work, and that you will share it proudly as a major product from the CCSG. To this end, the CCSG Secretariat, based at the Center for Large Landscape Conservation, has prepared a press release which provides background and context and links to the full report. We encourage you to share widely among your colleagues and networks.

Furthermore, the IUCN WCPA has prepared a news story here, and we expect additional coverage in press and on social media. We invite you to engage with these platforms to help spread the word.

Thank you from the CCSG Secretariat!
