NOMINATE A CHANGEMAKER

The Center for Health Design is all about change -- changing the way we think about how healthcare facilities should look and feel, and pushing others to incorporate evidence-based design into their work. Since 1999, The Center's Board of Directors has awarded individuals or organizations who demonstrate exceptional ability to make change happen in healthcare facility design. The award winner is announced at the annual HEALTHCAREDESIGN conference in the fall.

The deadline for this year's nominations is June 15. Submit your nominations now.

WHY IS PATIENT SAFETY AND DESIGN SO IMPORTANT?

Watch Jain Malkin answer this question and more as she talks about her new book, A Visual Reference for Evidence-Based Design on the CHD YouTube channel. Read an executive summary about this valuable resource.

Members of GHSI recently met at the CleanMed Conference in Pittsburgh, PA. A representative from each GHSI workgroup presented conference attendees with the plans for deliverables that will support patient, workplace and environmental safety in healthcare environments.

A new website for GHSI was recently launched: http://www.globalhealthsafety.org/. Not only will this website serve as a resource for the workgroups within GHSI, but it will also provide answers to commonly asked questions for healthcare systems and individuals interested in joining this important initiative.

The Center for Health Design is a founding member of the GHSI. If you would like more information about GHSI, please contact Donna Deckard.
