IIT Madras inviting application for Ideas to Impact challenge and Carbon Zero Challenge 4.0

Greetings from IIT Madras,

We are pleased to extend a formal invitation for the participation of your students in two transformative initiatives led by IIT Madras:

1. Ideas to Impact challenge- To transform your sustainable and eco-innovative ideas to workable lab-scale prototypes

2. Carbon Zero Challenge 4.0- To transform your lab-scale sustainable and eco-innovative prototype into a thriving startup 

Both of these initiatives share a common mission: to unearth eco-innovations and circular solutions and facilitate their way into the market. These programs act as a conduit, guiding ideas toward becoming fully-fledged startups.

The theme and domain for both the i2I and CZC contests centre around CRC - "Circularity in Resources Conservation," encompassing critical areas such as Air, Water, Soil, Materials, and Energy. This focused approach aims to revolutionise resource management and contribute significantly to sustainable practices

About Ideas to Impact challenge (i2I)

i2I nurtures concepts from their ideation stage to the proof-of-concept stage, including laboratory-level testing. The inaugural edition is supported by the Wipro Foundation. 

Eligibility- Undergraduate students, postgraduate students, PhD and Research Scholars

i2I offers 

• Fund upto INR 50000 for developing lab-prototype

• Access to mentorship

• Training on prototype development

• Visibility and Networking opportunities 

• Direct entry into the next cohort of Carbon Zero Challenge and opportunity to get prototype development fund upto INR 5 Lakhs and win seed grant upto INR 10 Lakhs

Application Submission Deadline- 30th November 2023

No.of teams to be supported- 25 

Duration for developing PoC- 6 months

Grand Prize- Upto INR 1 Lakh each for 5 teams

About Carbon Zero Challenge 4.0 (CZC 4.0)-

CZC 4.0 aims to accelerate the lab-to-market transition of eco-innovations in India by funding innovations from proof-of-concept, lab-scale solutions to working prototypes or pilots. The 4th edition is supported by the Thales group for the second time. 

Eligibility- Teams working on eco-innovations that are sustainable and provides circular economy solutions with a validated proof of concept

CZC 4.0 offers 

• Award upto Rs.5 lakhs for prototype development 

• Mentorship and Entrepreneurship Training 

• Startup seed grant of upto Rs.10 lakhs

• Chance to get incubated at IITM

• Visibility and Networking opportunities

Application Submission Deadline- 30th October 2023

No.of teams to be supported- 15 

Duration for developing prototype- 6 months

Seed grant- Upto INR 10 Lakhs each for 5 teams
