India launches 100th space mission succesfully

India today successfully launched its 100th space mission with the indigenous PSLV-C21 rocket putting in orbit two foreign satellites. In a copybook launch, witnessed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, ISRO�s workhorse PSLV placed in orbit France�s SPOT 6 satellite and Japanese spacecraft PROTIERES, some 18 minutes after a perfect lift off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre.

China to launch 8 satellites for land, ocean surveillance

China plans to send as many as eight satellites into the space before 2020 to provide ocean and land data and supervise the marine environment, a senior official has said.

Astrium installs new terminal in Mexico to receive SPOT 6 and SPOT 7 imagery

Astrium Services and the Mexican federal government�s Ministry of agriculture, livestock farming, rural development, food and fisheries (SAGARPA), signed an agreement this spring to upgrade the ERMEX receiving station south of Mexico City. This station will enter service in September.
