Dear Healthcare and Public Health Sector Partners-
Cybersecurity remains a challenge for the Healthcare and Public Health sector. Increasingly, operatives are deploying ransomware, which prevents access to cyber systems until a sum of money is paid. As an attack of this type directly threatens the provision of quality care, the Secretary of Health and Human Services has released a letter and accompanying resources to assist entities in protecting against and reporting ransomware to authorities who can assist. Please distribute the Secretary’s message broadly to colleagues and staff.
