Good afternoon,

We have opened up our call for speakers for the 2016 BSWH Emergency Management Symposium.  This year’s Symposium will be held at the Waxahachie Civic Center located just off Highway 35E in Waxahachie, TX.  The all day event will include a light breakfast and lunch for all guests and participants.

This year our theme is “All Roads Lead to Hospitals” which reflects the nature of hospital emergency management.  The threat spectrum for hospitals is at an all-time high.  Hospitals are under constant threat, directly or indirectly, from a variety of emergencies that can occur at any point.  Furthermore hospitals have been traditionally seen areas of safe refuge and the source for information by the communities we serve.

The goal of our emergency management symposium is to provide an educational forum that will enhance the collaboration of ideas and begin to identify solutions for the complex problems we face in mitigating, preparing, responding, and recovering from disasters.

Our audience includes a diverse background of skill sets and professions such as: nurses, physicians, health care/hospital leadership, emergency management, public health, engineering, media and public relations, emergency medical, police and fire from across the State of Texas.

We hope that you will agree to participate in our event as a speaker.  Our speakers serve as the main attraction and bring with them years of experience, lessons learned, and serve as true opportunities for improving preparedness for those in attendance.  Travel arrangements and lodging are covered by our organization with the help of our sponsors whom without this event would not be possible.  We have also organized a speaker appreciation dinner the night before our symposium to show your gratitude for your contribution to our program.

Please fill out and return the attached application by COB on April 8th.
