Hello,
I have the following question:
We are currently using CSV files as lookup tables, which are accessed via the IADS interpolation functions (1D, 2D, 3D). To keep the file path consistent, we want to keep the CSV file name consistent without introducing a version number into the file name.
For configuration control - ensuring that the most up-to-date lookup table is being used - it would be helpful to store version information directly within the CSV file itself (for example, after the table definition) and display this information on the IADS screen during runtime. This would make it easier to identify which version is currently in use.
Is there a way to implement this? Alternatively, do you have any suggestions on how to approach this problem?
Thanks in advance,
Chris
Chris,
We can’t really change the layout of the file as it would change the default behavior and impact every user.
It would be my recommendation to add the version information to a cell within the .csv so that you can just feed the interpolate function the address information for that cell when you want to know the version. Since you likely have known values already defined
indexed from the origin then it would be placed as one additional entry at the end of the file.
Thank you,
