Hello - Is there a way to change settings in either IADS or in a strip chart specifically so that missing data is NOT plotted as a straight line between the last "real" data point and the "next" real data point? When I move my mouse over an area with no data, the time and value associated with this parameter in the strip chart no longer update, but the strip chart uses a straight line to connect the last real data point and next real data point. I'd prefer if that connecting line was omitted to better illustrate that there is no data in that part of the strip chart. Thank you!

Paul,
IADS does not currently support that type of behavior. This is due in part to the fact that the notion of “missing data” is different depending on the data type (periodic vs aperiodic) and dependent on the method that Time and Data are being delivered to IADS. Some frontend systems will fill data prior to reaching IADS and in other instances IADS can fill data due to data latency and/or missing data. In the case of aperiodic data (in IADS 9.4) there is a mechanism to signal Stale data based on a user selectable time value (Dashboard Image) that results in a RED X appearing in the stripchart.

If you can provide some more details about your data source type and the nature of your data I may be able make some suggestions on using other methods like Sync Lock Processing to help identify when data is missing.

Thank you,
