String Processing Memory Leak

I have a current application that processes a lot of RS422 data messages.
As a result, I have to do an awful lot of ASCII string processing and therefore use  a lot of derived string parameters.

The problem I have is that when I monitor the performance on Task Manager, the amount of memory taken up by a process called iads.exe keeps increasing and eventually leads to a crash.

The analysis windows I have created display a lot of string parameters within text icons. If no analysis windows are actually open then the problem does not seem to occur (but obviously, this is not very useful).

I have tried this on both 32-bit and 64-bit installations and see the same problem.

I read an earlier post that seems to describe this type of problem as a "memory leak".

Is there a way to avoid this type of problem?

Regards,

Ges

Ges,
Please zip up your Logs folder and send it to us for review. The Logs folder is located in the IADS Output Files directory selected during the start up process. It contains a series of text based log tiles that can help us determine what might be happening with IADS.

Thank you,
