Lumistar DAC card operation with IADS

Hello everyone,

We are planning to purchase a PCI DAC card from Lumistar, namely
LS-71, in order to provide analog output from the telemetry data.from
the ground station computer. We use IADS as software. Does anyone has
experience doing this before? Because I hear that Symvionics does not
support this card..

Unfortuntaely we don't have support for this card right now, as you noted. Moreover, I suspect that using this card and using IADS at the same time might not work because they both depend on configuring the decom.  But I don't know that for certain. I will research that and get back to you.

Good news – I talked to Lumistar and they say you can run the two together.  You will of course have to program the LS-71 “by hand” ( with their setup software ) and I think that includes the PCM decom information for the parameters you’re interested in as well.  But as far as I know, nobody has done this so I suggest getting a card on loan and testing it first.

 

We are exploring some DAC solutions ourselves, including the LS-71, so I’d be interested to hear your results!
