I'm looking for a solutions for this set of circumstances. I've got three stripcharts
on a page. I know that a solution, for these circumstances, could involve the use of
a folder but I'm very constricted for space and the tabs, in this case, are space hogs.
I've also already looked into layers but have become aware of the fact that only ActiveX
displays work with layers. Anyway, I need to have each stripchart be able to handle
two different data values and, to do so, I need to have the the Min - Max scale range
and User defined label change based on the value of a derived parameter. Is there a way
to modify the Min-Max scale range and the User defined label while IADS is running ? Or
is there a visible/invisible property for strip charts that I've missed ?

Hi Paul,

You can actually drop two parameter into the same Stripchart by holding down
the <ctrl> key while dropping the second parameter. After you get both
parameters in the display, you can right click on the StripChart and in the
"Display" popup menu tier select "Scale per Parameter". After this feature
is active, you can simply change the drop down on the Stripchart to set the
"active parameter" and manipulate the scales with the scale buttons on the
top of the Stripchart. Notice that manipulating the scales only affects the
currently active parameter at this point.

The same goes for the user defined label. Simply change the currently active
parameter with the drop down at the top of the StripChart and then right
click->Label->Edit label.

If you wish to use the Properties sheet with "scale per parameter" active,
simply change the drop down at the top of the sheet and apply the new
scales. The drop down will allow you to control which parameter on which the
scale settings are applying (or any other property for that matter).

Also, you can eliminate the title on the DisplayFolders by successively
pressing the "`" (upper left of keyboard). This might give you some more
room.

Hope this helps,
Jim

My initial thought would be to have 2 sets of scrip charts on separate tabs
and use a derived parameter to drive an action object to GotoTab
One trick that will free up space would be to use the '`' key to hide the
title of the tab.
Another possibility would be to change the location of the tabs from top to
bottom.
Then you can have your formatted strip charts to your liking on each tab and
either manually switch between them or have a derived parameter do it for
you.
The other option would be to write a VB script that changes the
configuration of the strip chart and fire that off with a button or action
object driven by the derived parameter. This would be a little harder to
accomplish if you are not familiar with VBS, but not beyond reason and can
be coded in windows notepad.
