Hello,

we are planning to use the tab function on our pilot display, to select different display set ups, depending on the flight phase, or type of test we are performing.

We are able to select the pilots display tab by controling it from the FTE station via an ActionAgument, but still it would be nice, if pilots also could select the required tab themselves, as the display has touchscreen functionalities.

In this context, is there a way to increase the tab size or respectively the font size on the tabs?

Thanks
Chris

Chris,

Apologies, but there is no method in IADS to change the Tab size or its Font size. You might want to consider making pseudo Tabs with buttons that use the action object to switch Analysis Windows. That way you can size them however large you need.

Thank you,

Hi Adam,

thanks for your answer.

Another question in the context of this application of steering the tabs of the pilots display from the FTE station: The function as implemented generally works, by use of Action arguments on the different tabs. However, for some reason, the sequence of the tabs sometimes changes arbitrarily. What could be the reason for this tab sequence change and how could we prevent that?

Thanks
Chris

Chris,
Apologies, but I’m not sure what you mean by sequence of tabs… changes. Do you mean that Tab1 Tab2 Tab3 appears in a different order or that some action by the use of the Action object behaves in an unexpected way?

Adam,

yes, correct. Tab 1 / Tab 2 / Tab 3, all of a sudden appears in a different order. e.g. Tab 1 / Tab 3 / Tab 2

As the action argument for activating a tab is refering to the tab number (in terms of order), this is a problem, as the selection of tab in a drop down menu which we are using to trigger the action argument is then not working anymore / leading to the wrong tab.

Does that make sense?

Note, that we use custom tab names, and this change in tab order just happens after new login.

Thanks
Chris

Chris,

If possible can you export the Analysis Window or even just the Tabs portion and associated dynamics  (as its own analysis window) of it and send it to me for review? Iads-support(at)curtisswright.com
I have not seen this happen before and I’m not sure if it’s related to the Action behavior or that the tab names are not their default values.
