Hi everyone.

I have a project that contains the IadsDataInterfaces.dll from the IADS: For this project I'm curious about the client connection to cds in IADS.
Are clients use IadsDataInterfaces.dll to connect too or that dll is just for the connection from outside of system?
If not what is the brief communication between this two components?

Thank you.

Emir.

Emir,
The IadsDataInterfaces.dll is the public interface for third party tools, like Python or custom code, to get data from an IADS Data Archive or IADS Server similar to how the IADS Server and Client communicate.
Specifically the iadsread call can either point to a directory or server$portId as its initial ‘source’ argument. Using server$portId will allow the interface to connect to a real-time IADS server and query data for any number of parameters. It’s to be noted that it acts just like any other IADS Client and is subject to the same connection licensing rules for the IADS Server it’s connecting to.

Was there a specific functionality you are looking for?

Thank you,

Just to clarify.....

The client doesn't actually use IadsDataInterfaces.dll to communicate with the CDS, but the code that is inside of IadsDataInterfaces.dll is the same code the client uses to communicate with the CDS. Basically, they share the same communication code.

Hope this helps,
Jim
