Anthony,
For the most part all of the display objects on the ActiveX Controls tab follow the same ordering scheme, however multiple graphics libraries are used in IADS and they each
exist on their own layer canvas. So for IadsPrimitives they all exist on the same canvas and have a related ZOrder as do all IadsACGauges and Iads3DModels, however they each have a static Order between them that can’t be modified. For IadsPrimitives they exist
in the lowest ‘layer’ of canvas and can’t easily be displayed in front of the other objects. I say easily because it is technically possible to drop a Panel from the Data Displays Tab to an Analysis Window, then directly drop an IadsPrimitive into that Panel
and place the two over the top of any other object, but manipulating the Panel and the objects within it can be difficult. Additionally you lose the transparent aspect of the ActiveX Text object and it would be just as easy to use the Alphanumeric instead
of the ActiveX Text in that case.
As long as you stay within the same display type designated by the prefixing name they can be ordered forward to back as desired, but across types they are subject to the way the operating system manages them graphically.
Thank you,
Adam Chant

Subject: [IADS] IADS Primitive Text [EXTERNAL]

Hello,
Is there a way to bring an IADS primitive text object to the front of the screen? I'm trying to put a small text object on top of an attitude direction indicator object. I've tried right-clicking the object and clicking "Bring to Front" and "Send to Back," but the indicator always ends up on top.

Anthony,
You are welcome.
One more point to note is that some objects have various settings that can electively display certain aspects of a control and also set the transparency mode. In some instances setting an object to a transparent background it will show graphics objects behind
it that would otherwise be covered because of the way the OS orders them.
Additionally if you find that a new feature you are trying to create with an existing object would be an overall benefit globally you can send us an email request for it to be reviewed for potential addition to a future version of IADS.

Anthony,
You can’t modify the Alphanumeric and Panel any further than you have seen in the properties. They are ‘windowed’ and will always have a border around them. The “ActiveX Controls” offer much more configurability than the “Data Displays” objects.
