I am wondering if someone can send me the legislative agenda and issues to be lobbied during this event. Our organization represents both Franchised and independent car and heavy-duty truck dealers and the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) is having their annual Washington DC legislative conference at the same time and we will be making hill visits from Monday thru Wednesday. I’m sure there will be some overlap, but NADA’s big issue is going to be resisting tariffs. I would like to know what specific topics the independents are lobbying other than regulatory reform (CFPB/FTC) maybe permanent extension of tax cuts??

For some of you, this might be the second time you're getting this. Sorry! There are two groups in my google groups (AEC Directors and IADA Execs). I sent this out on Friday to the AEC group and some of you aren't in that one. Dave W- Could you help me clean this up and make it one group with current info and contacts? :) I've also corrected the date at the top of the agenda that Todd O pointed out for me- thanks Todd!

As Paul John said in his 8/29/18 email; we have planned a group meeting agenda for the DC meeting. I've attached the minutes from the June meeting (Thank you Lisette!) and the agenda for the DC meeting. Please let me know if you see anything that needs corrected. It looks like we'll only have 11 state directors in attendance so we should be able to stick to the schedule.
I asked our administrative assistant Alexis to reach out to all of you to get your direct emails and cell numbers. I'd like to thank you all for your quick reply's and responses. This list is not going to be made public to anyone but our group (I did share it with Paul John, he's part of our group, sort of?) and I ask that you not share it with anyone else. I'll have copies for you at the meeting or I can email it to you directly if you're not going to be there.

Pretty cool that the combined retail automobile industry will be on the Hill at the same time. NADA and I have had discussions to make sure our messaging is consistent. We too will be opposing tariffs and talking about impact on the used car market. Time permitting, we will also talk about tax issues (tax reform 2.0, impacts of recent Wayfair case)
