Read 1 Thessalonians 4:1-2 (NLT) Finally, brothers, we instructed you
how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we
ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more. For
you know the instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord
Jesus.

Paul is writing and talking about living in a pleasing way to God.
But a part of this caught my eye. He stated "as in fact you are
living" I thought this very odd. Well of course I am living. Why
take the time to put that part in. Well looking at the key word in
the phrase it is living. Let me share what this means.

living –adjective
1. having life; being alive; not dead: living persons.
2. in actual existence or use; extant: living languages.
3. active or thriving; vigorous; strong: a living faith.
4. burning or glowing, as a coal.
5. flowing freely, as water.
6. pertaining to, suitable for, or sufficient for existence or
subsistence: living conditions; a living wage.
7. of or pertaining to living persons: within living memory.
8. lifelike; true to life, as a picture or narrative.
9. in its natural state and place; not uprooted, changed, etc.: living
rock.
10. very; absolute (used as an intensifier): to scare the living
daylights out of someone.

He doesn't want us to just live. He wants us to LIVE. I like active
or thriving; vigorous; strong: a living faith. Burning, glowing, free
flowing, and absolute

I did laugh at (to scare the living daylights out of someone.)

(definition from www. dictionary.com)

Anyway today lets LIVE to please God. He said to do this more and
more.
