I assume the ability to cut back our MP food arrangement for our lower attendance has been resolved. From a recent email from David it appears this has not happened. I am sure we have our BODs on top of this issue and it has indeed been resolved.

If not, I cannot believe MP wont agree to cut back the number of servings. It would be incredibly bad PR for them. Besides which it will bite the hand that feeds them. Surely they realize they would be biting the hand that feeds them. Why on earth would they jeopardize the long standing and mutually beneficial relationship they have had with IACF and all its members. We should be able to quite easily make a compelling case shouldn't we?

Better Believe it Bro. MP Told Murthy since they had already purchased the Chicken & Stuff they will not reduce

payment for the number to be catered to i.e. 600 :(

It is Certainly Bad PR for them & I have requested Surender to talk to MP.

No they did not tell me they would not reduce; Mahesh told me he ordered meat in retail and you and I went bak and foirth with the numbers from 500 to 540 to 580 and we settled for 600 because we thought there may be walk-ins,
Let us not have any more emails on this, I will consider it as a failure on my part and I will spring additional 2000 dollars if I have to. I like to be fair in my dealings and that's one of the reasons i need to take this on as my burden. Let's not black list MP ; even today we do not have names for the tables purchased

Hi all

My two cents for whatever it's worth. I agree with Murthy here. It's not completely fair to the vendors we associate with to tell them to cut back at the last min. Feeding 500-600 hundred people is a large task and one that they have to prepare for in advance. Since we had projected 600 people, they assumed so and prepared for it. It's not good on our part to suddenly drop the numbers and ask them to eat the cost, be it for raw materials, etc.... Afterall, they are running a business too. Mahesh at MP has been nice enough to give us extra food at a reduced pp/price, so we shouldn't take advantage. Perhaps, a nicer way to approach this is to see if they can accommodate giving us some complimentary food for any future event. :)

Looking forward to seeing everyone dressed up tomorrow! Have a good day!

Regards,

Vanitha

Vanitha

I talked to Mahesh at MP this morning and he said he would do whatever IACF wants him to do----the line he had been maintain from Day One, very honorable guy who does not slip his tongue.

I am waiting for the final count from David at 2PM and I will relay it to him. Most probably we will be looking at 500-550 people, nothing less than that.

There must be a way, we can all come out ahead, tax wise-and our IACF purpose-wise, if we only think innovatively not to waste food and figure out ways to keep the maximum dollars for the charity. I will talk to kamala after the Gala. These pieces are my job!

Dear All---

let us stay focused on “execution” the next two days put up a great show---rehearsing what our message is and stick to our time lines. I will take care of the venue and food matters. Pls do get people for the tables you all bought---a priority for all of us so we can give them our message. Many tables are not filled even in the 44 listed. Pls spring into action and bring your friends along.

Regards

Murthy
