Everyone,

It seems like all of these things have been requested numerous times on the list, so I am sending them in one big handy email that you can save and reference.  This includes the postcards designed by Queerocracy for outreach, the most recent platform (be warned that this changes pretty regularly so you may need to update it) and the general draft budget that we have been using to send around to funders, with a basic budget that can be changed and used as you come into contact with funders.

See you all at 1pm.

Thank you.

I have a couple of proposals that can discussed today regarding the platform:

First - Replacing the numbering to 'bullet points' on each demand as it seems to imply to many that they are listed in order of importance or priority (or implying of lesser importance) which I know is not intended however perception is what is.

Second - With consultation with Board members of the Global Network of People Living With HIV (GNP+), Campaign To End AIDS (C2EA) members, and other groups whose primary members are people living with HIV & AIDS that (currently) Demand #8 should be edited in a way that expands the purpose of ending discriminatory laws and policies that fuel ongoing stigma beyond "access to prevention and care". This mobilization should also emphasize the combat against complex social determinants of disease, not just a mobilization for treatment.

Below is proposed text with elements from the Greater Involvement of People With AIDS (GIPA) Principles that can be discussed further at today's meeting:

Commitments by state, national, and global leaders for the meaningful involvement and leadership of people living with HIV & AIDS must take place within an enabling and protected environment and are further supported and protected from stigma and discrimination through by condemning laws and practices that promote discriminatory actions and policies related to HIV, AIDS, sex and sexuality, gender and drug use. Ending the HIV & AIDS pandemic will only occur if we are supporting people over policy.

Thanks!
