Hi folks:

We're happy to announce two upcoming events: the in-person 2024 IAANI Forum and the online 2024 International Symposium on Autoethnography and Narrative (ISAN).

The 2024 IAANI Forum will emphasize The Past, Present, and Future of Autoethnography. It will be held January 3-4, 2024 at the Dolphin Beach Resort in St. Pete Beach, Florida (USA). The Forum will feature open, in-depth conversations and roundtables about doing, representing, reading, sharing, and evaluating autoethnographic projects. We envision an engaging, inspiring, collaborative, and compassionate gathering, innovative in format and focus. Participants will NOT formally present individual work at the Forum. Early registration (now-November 1, 2023) is $200 for full-time faculty and professionals, and $100 for students, part-time faculty, guests, and independent scholars. All registrants will be listed as “participants” in the final program. For more information about the forum, including information about lodging rates, go to www.iaani.org/2024Forum

We have also opened the call-for-proposals for the online 2024 ISAN. The symposium will occur via Zoom on March 1-3, 2024. The Symposium will provide scholars and practitioners of all experience levels an opportunity to present their autoethnographic and personal narrative projects and to participate in dialogue and sociability with scholars across a variety of disciplines. Eastern Standard Time (EST) will be used for all symposium activities.

Registration for ISAN will open November 1, 2023. Early registration (November 1, 2023-January 15, 2024) is $75 (USD) for full-time faculty and professionals, and $50 for students, part-time faculty, guests, and independent scholars. And for the first time, all paid registrants will receive one year of complimentary access to the Journal of Autoethnography. For more information about the 2024 symposium, including how to submit a proposal, visit www.iaani.org/2024ISAN

Finally, we invite nominations for the following awards:
• Outstanding Book/Edited Book
• Outstanding Audio and/or Visual Project
• Outstanding Thesis (Masters) and Outstanding Dissertation (Doctoral)

For more information about these awards, including how to submit a nomination, visit www.iaani.org/awards. We will honor the award recipients at the 2024 ISAN.

2024 ISAN proposals and award nominations are due August 15, 2023.

We're looking forward to the 2024 IAANI Forum and the 2024 ISAN!

Warmly,
Tony
