Happy International Ataxia Awareness Day   September 25th            International Ataxia Awareness Day is an international effort from ataxia organizations around the world to dedicate September 25th as International Ataxia Awareness Day. Creating Ataxia Awareness The goal of IAAD is for every individual to participate in some activity, creating awareness about ataxia.  NAF friends, members, chapters, support groups, and ambassadors throughout the United States and in other countries are planning various events on September 25th and 26th to help celebrate this very special day.   This marks the 10th year in celebrating IAAD.  The National Ataxia Foundation is truly grateful for the overwhelming response of NAF friends across the country who are conducting events, having a NAF Walk N' Roll, and holding various other celebrations to create greater ataxia awareness and to raise funds to help support the important work of NAF.   Many thanks to all the IAAD sponsors, participants, donors, and volunteers who help make these events so successful. We truly appreciate your support. NAF applauds all of your outstanding efforts and wish each of you great success in your event.    We would like to also thank all those who are recognizing IAAD in a variety of ways that include wearing an ataxia shirt, hat, wristband, displaying an ataxia awareness magnet on your vehicle, contacting a state official to declare September 25th International Ataxia Awareness Day, or taking a minute to tell someone else about ataxia.    Please let us know about your event or what you did to celebrate IAAD so we can include it in the next issue of "Generations."  Macy's Shop For a Cause NAF Shopping Day   Saturday, October 17, 2009  Purchase a Macy's shopping ticket for $5 by October 10th.
