People who buy items can't deduct anything, as they are getting value
for what they pay. People who donate items are the ones who might be
able to get a tax write-off. They must prove to the IRS the value of
what they are donating. Certainly if we keep track of what was paid for
each item, the donor could get a deduction for that amount.

I am currently on vacation in Missoula. Going to be singing in a
concert tomorrow morning.
As for my presence at the September event, I will probably be there, but
not definite. I almost certainly won't be there the entire time. I can
handle the money that is collected after the fact, meaning that I can
assemble cash, turn it into a check and send the check to NAF with a
list of donors, addresses, and amounts so they can issue a confirmation
letter to each. Those on the scene will have to make that list.
