Hello Birders,
On the morning of Monday, June 8, I had a total of 3 Mississippi Kites at the corner of Avenue M and 12th Street in Hawarden, IA. One kite was picking up sticks and flying into a tree, apparently working on a nest. At around 11:30 am that morning, one bird was soaring over town, but no kites have been seen since and it appears the nesting attempt was ended.

I am guessing they may still be around town in another location.

Good birding,

Tucker Lutter

One Mississippi Kite returned this morning, June 10, around 7:30 am and was carrying sticks again in Hawarden, IA.
