I don’t believe anyone has posted this to the birding community yet, but for those who haven’t heard we lost a long-time member of the IOU last week. Linda and her husband Bob have been active participants in writing and photographing a lot of our natural world.

An addendum to the on-line obituary:

“Donations in her honor may be made to the groups that she was most active in: the Iowa Native Plant Society, Cedar Rapids Audubon Society, Iowa City Bird Club, Althea R. Sherman Chimney Swifts’ Tower Project, and Prairie States Mushroom Club.”

This January through May, Bob and Linda will be having an exhibit at the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, 410 Third Avenue SE,  Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52401.  I am not sure of the exact date of the beginning.  This will have many of their images.  Linda was able to complete printing them before she died.  I invite anyone in the area to attend.

I was very sorry to hear this news.  I did not know Linda, but I recognized her from a segment on Iowa Outdoors on IPTV.  I have attached a link to the episode for anyone that would like to see it.  Her segment starts at 18:25.  This segment is a wonderful tribute to her and her husband's beautiful work.  They also have an inspiring message to share.

I was fortunate to meet Linda and Bob at several bird outings at the Iowa Great Lakes. It is a sad loss for her family and for all of us.
