With the cool temps, light showers and an influx of migrants behind the rain band overnight, the yard was more active this afternoon than it has been in months.
Ruby-crowned Kinglets and Yellow-rumped Warblers were zipping in all directions. Among them was a late Black-throated Green and a Nashville Warbler. First seen today were Dark-eyed Juncos and a juvenile Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.
Still hanging around from the warm spell are a couple of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds and phoebes and Field Sparrows, a catbird and Rose-breasted Grosbeak and a bunch of flickers.
It was nice to see the rain too.
