I have had quite a few requests as to where McHugh Wetlands are located. They are five miles South of Stanhope, IA and two miles West of Highway 17 across the road from Masterson Marsh and run a mile SW. I visited with Jim McHugh again yesterday evening and told him how important along with how much his wetlands were appreciated! I told him they are recognized on eBird a worldwide birding community as McHugh Wetlands since we first visited four years ago and I couldn't find a designation for the Boone County wetlands. Jim was very pleased and always expresses his enthusiasm for seeing the wildlife and people like myself enjoying the area.
