Checked out some waterfowl at Swan Lake State Park in Carroll County for a bit yesterday. Mostly the normal stuff. One unusual goose came to our attention. Probably not something you will want to drive across the state to see or maybe even across town, but still kind of neat. It appears to be a hybrid of a Canada Goose and a Graylag Goose. It has a lot of Canada characteristics and is definitely planning to breed and nest with a Canada Goose. It and it's mate have a Muskrat house for their nest, joining several other pairs of Canada Geese in the area. There are photos attached.
