Is it possible that we are seeing migration. For about 10 minutes I saw so many NightHawks circling the west side of the park and within 10-15 minutes they were gone. I haven’t seen any Nighthawks for several years let alone so many circling closely? 
I couldn’t count but a friend looking for the Mississippi Kite said he counted 49.

Yes! Common Nighthawks are definitely migrating; saw a similar large group of them in the Waterworks Park yesterday as well.
