I spent time from 10:30 AM to 1:15 PM today spotting the Clark's Nutcracker from the Ames HS parking area. Saw it about 4 times briefly but could not get photos before leaving to get a quick lunch. After returning, other birders and I briefly saw it near the top of those huge pine trees. Then just before 1PM it leaped up for clear views and allowed many photos. It was quite far away, so when getting home I had to crop and enhance lighting on some of the best ones, such as the one included here.
