Easy access Woodcocks in Madrid by the Johnson Family High Trestle Trailhead/Delander Park

American Woodcocks were peenting from both sides of the prairie this evening! This 40-50+- acre prairie is on Prairie Creek and is easy access from the Johnson Family High Trestle Trailhead and Delander Park parking lot. The entry is on the East side of Highway 17 in Madrid and there is a hard surface trail that goes around to the South side! Just watch for the bicycle crossing signs! Best area was just East of the footbridge on the South side. Even though I couldn't see them they couldn't have been more than 15 feet away!
