Bird hike & Program Opportunities in Eastern Ia

Hi All! 

I’m presenting my 2023 Iowa Big Year presentation a couple of times and leading a bird hike this month. All are welcome. 

Sept 9th: 2023 Iowa Big Year program at Prairie Rapids Audubon Society in Cedar Falls at 7pm. First Presbyterian Church at 9th and Main, lower level. 

Sept 16th: Wickiup Bird hike at 8:30 am.  Register at My County Parks.com    Wickiup Learning Center in Linn Co. 

Sept 17th: 2023 Iowa Big Year program at 7pm at Wickiup Learning Center in Linn Co. 

I encourage others to start leading bird hikes in their local areas and invite the public to join. You don’t have to be a “bird expert” to lead. Lots of people have cameras these days and you can always consult someone else for ID. And besides it’s always good to learn that some sightings are better left unidentified. 

Leading hikes is a great way to bring in new members! 

Remember to speak up for the birds!
