I publish the feed to my podcast from my blog and for the past month
have been puzzled as to why earlier podcasts weren't showing up. I
think I've finally figured it out.

It appears that the feed is reading the posts of the home page of my
blog (http://www.thepreparedmind.com/pm/). My blog displays a certain
number of posts and it appears that as I post more blog entries,
earlier podcasts are being pushed off the front page and therefore
not being shown in the feed.

The question is, how do I arrange the feed in iTunes and other places
where I publish my podcast so that all of my podcast entries show up?

Any help would be appreciated. Sorry if this is an obvious question.

Chris:

I did look at this a bit, and found 8 of your podcasts listed on Yahoo's
service, Podnova has 4 Podcasts shown, and only 3 on iTunes listings. So it
isn't even a consistent problem, which is odd in itself.

It does appear that each podcast aggregating service does accumulate what it
reads differently, and the sensitivity to the accuracy of the XML feed
varies from system to system. My guess is if you check your XML file
against the latest iTunes specifications for podcasts, you will probably
find that there's something going on in the way you add episodes -- and that
this is why the older episodes drop off.

I unfortunately will be out of email range for the day tomorrow to answer,
but I'd be interested in hearing what you learn on this -- since it does
affect us all.

Best regards,

Brad
