Hi Everyone, Today we have a High Avalanche Danger on the east slopes of the Cascades. Yesterday Snoqualmie Pass was closed all day for avalanche control, be careful out there because most snowmobile routes on the Cle Elum Ranger District go through an area prone to avalanches. I was waiting on a part for the Pisten Bully but because the pass was closed all day yesterday it could not make it here, it will be here today. I have some preventive maintenance to do before go out. I need to sharpen my chainsaw, I have been spending 1-3 hrs. every time out cutting trees off the route. With every new storm we have more trees falling, so be careful and have a secondary way out incase trees have fallen while you were out. On the east end, Aragon went from the Blewett Snowpark up to the Lion Rock/Haney Jct. then back down to Mineral Springs. Today he might just do Lion Gulch and Cougar Gulch because of the High Avalanche danger. Be safe, take the warnings seriously because you can always play another day. John
Hi Everyone, Today I groomed from Mineral Springs up Blue Cr. and down Jack Cr. and back. As usual this year I cut about 10 trees. Friday and Saturday grooming on the east end will be Friday from Blewett Snowpark over Table Mtn. to Reecer Cr. and back then out to Haney Mdw. then down Naneum Mdw. and back to the trailhead. Lately on the Reecer Cr. side we have been stopping at the second parking place from the bottom because the snow on the road is not good enough to take the groomer all the way down to the trailhead at Reecer Cr. Saturday, we will again go from Blewett Snowpark up and over Table Mtn. to Reecer then back and down Lion Gulch and back to the trailhead. At Keechelus Ridge Route, we start from the Kachess Snowpark and go up and over and come out the 4832 then back up to the Tower and back to the trailhead. We do that route each time on Friday and Saturday unless we encounter to many trees or something else and can’t make the whole trip. The weather is not very good right now but it should cool down for the weekend. Be safe out there and tell other where you are going and when you will get back. John
