A new laser and resin full SLA printer, a spinoff from MIT lab researchers:

Cost: $2400 for the printer and 1 liter of resin, a neutral grey material.
Est cost for refills (from their site).
Form 1 wrote:

Holy moses, that thing looks cool.

It might not seem like all that much, but that surface detail is fantastic.

I know that photo is advertising and probably only slightly more
accurate than before/after diet pictures, but it seems like the goods
to me.
To be sure, the machine is a bit on the slow side, (15mm~ per hour)
but the finish resulting from the resolution is just astounding. There
are features possible that you couldn't _hope_ to get at for
finishing.

Our grandchildren are never going to go to the store.

Plus you have to think about how much simpler the entire mechanism is. Fewer moving parts, no plastic part popping off the heat bed, etc. Seems like an overall better system? Only one material though right?

Only one for now. They're looking at a flexible material and a
translucent one as well.

They seem to be offering a pretty sweet deal on a "subscription" to
their fluid as well.
