Local Motors

Hey i3 Public List,

I was visiting a manufacturing show in Chicago this weekend (IMTS), and there was a display by a company called Local Motors. I thought it was pretty awesome, so I'm sharing it with you - apologies if everyone has already heard of it and I'm living in the past.

They crowd-source new vehicle designs through monthly contests, and they just produced their first vehicle from one of the winners in a manufacturing facility in AZ. They were well aware of hackerspaces and have a form of one in their facility.
