It's about to be the spooky season! As one way of celebrating, we'll play a special game of Werewolf In The Dark (combining Werewolf with hide-and-seek) at 11:30pm on Friday, October 4. Please come out, because this is way more fun with a lot of players!
Late that evening, I will cover the A-side windows over the lounge and craft zone with sheets of foam that will block out all light, and I will put up ropes in A side to keep participants out of member storage and the A side zones. B side will be out of bounds.
Game Instructions:
We will gather at 11:30pm in the common area and go over the safety rules. I will teach the full rules and assign you cards that say whether you are an innocent villager or a werewolf. I will ask everyone to close their eyes, then all the werewolves to open their eyes and see who else is a werewolf, then ask them to close their eyes, then everyone opens their eyes. At 11:59 pm we will turn out the lights and snuff out the single LED "candle" in the common area, plunging us into complete and total darkness. This is the night phase, in which villagers attempt to find a hiding place to spend eight minutes. B side will be out of bounds and off limits, as well as the A side zones roped off with tape.
If you are a werewolf and you come across another player in the dark, you tap them twice with your index finger and they are "killed". They must curl up in the fetal position. If you are a villager, and you come across a person in the fetal position, you quietly ask them if they are "dead", and if they whisper yes, you end the night phase by shrieking into the darkness, "BODY FOUND"!
After 8 minutes, or when a body is found, the light comes back on, and everyone gathers in the commons area for the day phase. Players vote to select a player who they will "execute" on suspicion of being a werewolf.
"Killed" players become ghosts. Then the night phase begins again for 8 minutes. Ghosts wait 30 seconds after everyone else left the commons area, before beginning to slowly shuffle around, carrying a dim LED candle. Any player may double-tap a ghost to return them to the commons area.
Werewolves win when there are no longer more villagers than werewolves. Villagers win when the last werewolf is "executed" or when a night phase ends without a werewolf "killing" a victim.
