I'm looking for some help/info on an upgrade to a project of mine. I haven't had much luck so I thought i'd try here.

I'm trying to make a better version of my LED top hat. I saw one that had really good graphics at dragon con but didn't get to talk to him. I tried to make my own version the easy way. I got one of those flexible signs that you can control with a phone app and bluetooth. was super easy but the only signs like this I can find have a 4 pitch(led panel version of resolution). Even a 3 pitch would be better but would love to have something like a 2

So my question is does anyone have knowledge of flexible LED panels? I can find sites that talk about them but they are geared towards selling to other industries not to the public and don't seem to have all the info i need. Looking for something I can load new graphics on the fly from my phone and control the brightness. Thanks.

I have no idea what you're budget is, and there are flexible oled displays that take hdmi. You can easily find them on Amazon. They're just... not inexpensive. Assuming you don't need 2k resolution they can get down to around 220$ for a 7" 1080p display.

The problem with those is I don't think you can connect them(i want the screen to wrap around the hat. roughly 7in by 26in). Right after I posted this(I've been looking at this on and off for months), I decided to do another search, and finally found a panel that connects to other panels that shows the amount of flexibility in the arc that I need with a 2.5 pitch. So I THINK i figured out a solution finally(of course right after i posted this). But now I'm diving dead into the world of led panels, sending and receiving cards, and how they all connect.

If you need help figuring that out let me know. I'm the lead service tech for the sign company at the end of the street i3 is on. Fixing those systems has been a specialty of mine for almost a decade now.

Hello,

I did a simple LED hat for Halloween. It has two 8x32 ws2812 matrixes. Inside there is a controller running WLED. I had a USB power pack in a pocket that provided 1 amp continuous.

The pitch and resolution is no where near what you are asking for, but it was a fun project. Each pixel is 5 x 5 mm. And with the power restraints, not very bright in a well lit area.
